I used to eat figs with my muesli. And I have never tought of it as a flower full of flies, but it is. I just saw an article telling why figs are not vegan. And I think that many vegetarians consume figs without knowing that it is a flower, and small male flies are inside of it waiting for big female flies to come. So they are always inside. Female flies come and go, and baby flies born. Male ones stay inside, females fly away.
Some sources write that a special enzyme breaks down the corpses of the flies, but does it make any difference?
I was quite shocked to learn this. But: There are always things to learn.
