Note: because this mascara is all natural and contains no preservatives, it lasts 3-4 months. Dispose of after that or if it starts to smell funky. You could probably put a few drops of vitamin E oil in and put a little less coconut oil in to help preserve it.
I suppose you could use regular charcoal after burning a fire, no?
Yes, you probably could. Never thought of that, but then it might really hurt if it gets in your eye.
why would it? I figure it must be the same as activated charcoal which is the stuff used in some medicines. I don't really know what activated means for charcoal, but I always assumed it was the same because it works to eat real charcoal for things like jardia.
bees wax isnt vegan, what else can i use instead? im vegan
maybe try soy wax
Try coconut oil
thank you for this recipe, possibly for funky green mascara.. spirulina instead of the charcoal.. i will try both!
Maybe candelila was instead of bees wax to make it vegan.
Thanks, making one own's cosmetic also means much much much less environment pollution, less resources and energy consumed, less used materials rejected in environment from factory to shop to home.
Hence less harming nature and animals.
I've been unable to buy any cosmetics for over a year because I always think it's an extra plastic container going into waste. We know the plastic particules are ingested by fish and disturbing them, we know plastic garbage suffocates seal, marine mammals, marine birds...
I can't decently apply make up and try to look pretty knowing my "looking pretty for 1 day" will cause death of animals and deplete environment resources.
