Connect with vegetarian and vegan friends from all over the world.
This is kind of an obvious one, but could someone come up with a detailed reply? I'm actually writing a speech on this topic and I'm finished with it but I want to hear opinions or other facts that never came to mind or maybe something to add. I'm not cheating.

Yes, and then look in the toilet after a full day of meat-eating and decide whether or not that should be inside of our body!?!
Permalink Reply by Lisa Coto on March 9, 2013 at 9:57pm The garden of Eden was vegan. I looked it up! When Noah landed back on dry land there was nothing for him and his family to eat so the "law" changed. Now God allowed humans to eat meat. He did say every animal will be accounted for. That tells me he cares about animals and how they are treated. I cannot argue with the bible. I understand not everyone agrees with the bible and people have their own thoughts. This is just what I believe. So I Agree, humans were not designed to eat meat! Plants, nuts, seeds the Lord made the garden perfect . We can still eat that way there is no need to eat meat. We were suppose to be vegan!!
Permalink Reply by Filipe on March 9, 2013 at 11:32pm for god's sake, ppl eat meat not because they were designed to but because ppl like it. if you want to convince meat eaters not to eat meat show them animals have feelings just like us human have.

I've not had flesh for 35 years. I used to have eggs occasionally but not since 10 years now & my immune system is better for it. I know we're all supposed to be veggy/vegan on here. I'm not supporting flesh food when I say I think omnivorous diet isn't unnatural. Fish... you don't need carnivorous teeth for fish, or eggs. People have eaten fish and eggs since, well, long time. I think when advocating/arguing for flesh free diet it may be better to stick with facts or be labeled cranks (not by me of course) and as such some people’s respect for 'us' would diminish and they’d be dismissive which would not help animals lives being saved. People will usually respond defensively/aggressively to anything they feel confrontational to their lifestyle. So diplomacy and facts may achieve better result. I remember when I first met veggys (Italian and Israeli) when I was 18. I had been invited for dinner, not knowing they were veggy. The food was fantastic. Prior to then my only food experience was 'traditional' British, ie always meat/fish and some vegetables. Their colorful array and variety of tasty mouthwatering Mediterranean veggy food blew my mind. I said "where's the meat?" "We're vegetarian" "It looks great! But isn't it unhealthy to not have some meat?" They laughed, not in a mocking way, just happy people, "Do we look unhealthy to you?" And of course, they didn't. They were bright, happy, healthy people. I said it must be expensive though (I was a poor window cleaner ho ho) but their weekly food bill for 3 people and a child equalled my own. They didn't go into discussion further, no preaching, arguing. Their example did it for me. From then on I took interest in veggy etc and very rarely ate meat, just some chicken n fish a few times a year, and at 22 years old no more flesh. Back then veggy was rare. I'm well pleased it, and vegan, is now more prominent.
Anyway… this link below is either truth or lies. I agree especially with it’s compassion argument against flesh food as well as both possible and proven opinions of flesh food being unhealthy.
