I've been asked the same questions all my life! I rarely ask omnivores why they eat meat, but I get asked all the time... but basically the questions are, and always have been: What do you eat? Is it healthy? and
How do you get enough protein?"
And what's your answer to them?

I reply, "Have you ever seen me eat grass?"
Permalink Reply by Julie Dillon on June 4, 2012 at 10:33am I have never been told I eat the animals food, that is ri-donk-ulous.
Permalink Reply by Joseph Dietrich on June 4, 2012 at 9:27am I hear a lot of things, but here are some of the most common.
Q: Why don't you eat meat, its natural? A: Well so is rape but you wouldn't do that would you?
Q: How do you get enough protein? A: Some soy milk has more protein than milk and nuts and beans are high in protein. Meat doesn't have as high an amount of protein as most people think.
Those are the two most common questions. However, most of the time they just make jokes or insults, to which I usually reply with my own snide remark.
If anyone actually expresses interest (which rarely happens) then I will explain in more detail the benefits of a vegan diet for animals, the planet and our health.
