Connect with vegetarian and vegan friends from all over the world.
This could be about anything. Could be about ethics, environment, health, and etc. What are some of the things they told you about your choice in being veg*n that wasn't really well thought out?

Permalink Reply by Kimberly on April 22, 2012 at 2:51am LOL! The worst argument I hear... "Eating vegetables is killing too"... a really Buddhist argument--used by people who are not buddhist. And then I usually say something along the lines of well animals are a bit different than vegetables... but that usually doesn't usually go anywhere.
Permalink Reply by Jenny Matzke on April 22, 2012 at 3:09am They are really reaching with that argument because for many plants it doesn't hurt them at all to take food from them. Such as apple trees. If you don't pick the apples, they will just fall off and rot. Same thing with vegetables and fruits like tomatoes, greenbeans, corn, etc. Nature took care of that for us.

Anyway, I get this one every single time -_-

Permalink Reply by Lauren Woods on December 11, 2012 at 7:09am Sadly, this is one of the dumbest arguments thrown up, and it happens ALL THE TIME, lol. I like those memes online where they respond to this with pictures. They'll show people picking vegetables and say, "So you're comparing this to THIS" - enter photos of blood, torture and mayhem. It's another childish argument, made by people who either lack intellectual capacity or don't want to expend any intellect on the matter. Both are sad.

2) All energy comes from the sun.
3) All energy people gain from eating animals comes from the vegetables those animals have eaten.
4) Cut out the 'middle man' and just eat the vegetables.
