A very simple Indian garlic chutney recipe.
6-7 clove Garlic
2-3 nos Dry red chili
4 nos Tomato
1 tsp Cumin seeds or mustard seeds
1 tsp ginger (optional )
2 tsp Oil
¼ tsp Salt (or to taste)
1 Tamarind ( optional )
Heat a tsp of oil in a pan, and fry red chillies and tomatoes.
Saute till the tomatoes are thoroughly cooked.
Add tamarind to it, and fry for few seconds to let it mix.
Let the mixture cool, grind sauteed red chilli tomato mixture along with peeled garlic, ginger and salt. Do not add any water.
Again heat 1 tbsp oil, and splutter the mustard or cumin seeds, add grinded mixture to this and fry for about 3 minutes on medium flame until the oil separates.
Delicious garlic chutney is prepared which one can have with Adai and Oats Upma dishes shared earlier.
It can be stored in refrigerator for 8-10 days.
Thxs for the recipe.have a question, do we need to add tamarind with water or just whole tamarind after cooking tomatoes?
I might be being really stupid here, but what is "nos"? is it supposed to be ounces or what?
