Through the practices of yoga, we discover that concern for the happiness and well being of others, including animals, must be an essential part of our own quest for happiness and well being. The fork can be a powerful weapon of mass destruction or a tool to create peace on Earth.

I just joined the group today--what a great site!!  I'm in the U.S., practice and teach yoga, and much like Sureshji, I try to live a well-balanced yogic lifestyle.  I love being vegetarian; it just makes me happy.  It began for me back in 2007...I was studying the Sutras and kept feeling that my practice of ahimsa was lacking.  So here I am, loving the veggie life.  Although I enjoy cooking, it would be nice if there were more vegetarian restaurants so that when I'm asked on a date by a non-veg guy, I'd have somewhere to go that doesn't smell gross. :(  Anyone want to open up a great restaurant in southeastern Massachusetts?  You'll be my new best friend! :)
