The more involved I become in the animal rights movement- the more I realize just how little I have in common with the people in my life anymore. I try very hard on a daily basis to not ridicule others about their choice to eat meat. However- it is when I am confronted with statements like the following that I cannot tolerate the ignorance, disconnect, and lack of empathy of my fellow humans:
