"On my teens in 70's and 80's I used to like books of the Kyrgyz writer Tsingiz Aitmatov. The stories happened in these landscapes. I have never been there but the images are very lively to me. Thanks for sharing them :)"

- I grew up in Scandinavia but now live mostly in Australia. I also travel in S-E Asia: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong kong, Taiwan, Japan.
I am much into yoga, meditation, quiet lifestyle, ride bicycle, walk.
Spiritually I am quite much inspired by Buddhism but do not consider myself very religious. Though kindness and compassion are things that I am fond of, and I would like to see more of them around me, also in vegan circles.
By diet I am vegan, or Chinese vegetarian, ie. I do not consume any animal products but also no garlic & onion.
I am adventurous with eating and cooking. My favourite food is Chinese: rice, stir fry veggies with tofu, tempeh & mock meat (ie. fake meat made of plans ingredients).

Heard this from the Buddhist monk Ajahn Brahm, and can't stop laughing:
Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates.
"In honor of this holy season" Saint Peter said, "You must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."
The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. "It represents a candle", he said.
