The problem.

:

In order to recognize (and solve) the things that bother us,we have to make a decision to do so.A decision to start looking at ourself, all the time, and understand that nothing, nothing,is responsible for our suffering but OURSELVES.With that being said, find all the different fears that are involved (there are a few in every situation) and fine how to overcome them all.

No Fear, LOVE.

Is It Wrong To Eat Plants

I have been asked thousands of times,"Isn't it violent to eat plants? My answer is of course it is but we must eat something unless we are a great yogi who can live off of Sunlight. The different forms of life have different levels of consciousness.Plants being on the bottom have the least ability to feel pain and so a person who is trying to live in harmony with Mother Earth…

Are Women More Merciful Than Men? [On the Average]

I have distributed my bumper stickers for many years and have noticed that I get a better responce on the average to vegetarianism from women than men..This has caused me to believe that women are on the average more merciful than men.Frequently even women that eat meat feel a sense of guilt connected with it but some men see vegetarianism  as a slight on their manhood and that to be a real man one must eat meat.Of course Mike Tyson is a vegan advocate!…

6 Easy Ways to Have a Green Diva Kitchen

1. Use Cloth Napkins

  • Paper products currently account for one-third of the municipal waste in the U.S. – great case for using cloth napkins and dishtowels
  • Paper products: paper v. cloth napkins – manufacturing cloth napkins takes a little more energy, however to wash and reuse them multiple times makes up for it and saves a LOT of trees
  • you can also easily make your own from remnants

How I Became A Vegetarian

I was born in  America in the 50s which was an extreme meat eating country. There was no strong animal rights/vegetarian movement and to not eat cow was considered a mortal sin.You could not buy tofu at Walmart and there was no Walmart. One Sunday while listening to the local  'alternative' FM station I heard Swami Kriyananda give a discourse.I was very attracted to Yoga philosophy and started attending his classes.Later his disciple Kali Dasa, who had just come out of six months of…

Apologetic Vegans

Had a stressful week, so if this post has an aggressive undertone that's why, lol. Anyways, the term "apologetic vegan" is relatively new to me, I have seen it used on Tumblr by one of the activists I follow. He's very direct, which I appreciate, and he's also very abrasive, which many people don't appreciate. While I'm not ready to start swearing people out and wishing death upon them, I do feel I need to be less apologetic and understanding. I am a huge advocate of luring people in with…

The Truth Behind Dairy

"First, you rape her. Force her to carry the child. Take away the child and suck her dry, packaging the milk off for your own children and the children of others to drink while her child is chained up or enslaved as she is. When she is spent and can no longer bear children, kill her. Cut up her corpse and feed it to your children and yourself. Repeat."

On how to cultivate happiness - I

on how to cultivate happiness - I

From a series of private interviews with Matthieu Ricard conducted by Vadivu Govind in Singapore , during which she assumed the role of a wealthy leader and posed some thoughts such a leader may have to Matthieu.

There are different definitions of happiness.Could you describe what it feels like to be truly happy?

Inner peace. Inner peace comes with inner freedom. What is inner…

The Principle of Non-Injury [Ahimsa]

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be measured by the way in which its animals are treated. Mahatma Gandhi

As long as human society continues to allow cows to be regularly killed in slaughterhouses, there cannot be any question of peace and prosperity.-- A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada Founder Acharya of ISKCON

Refrain from killing knowingly even the trifling insects like a louse, a bug or a mosquito. Use no violence even to gain possession of a woman,…

Quotes On Mercy

The following quotes are on the subject of mercy. These are not strictly vegetarian quotes but mercy is the primary reason for vegetarianism.

Teach me to feel another's woe, To hide the fault I see, That mercy I to others show, That mercy show to me.” Alexander Pope

When all thy mercies, O my God, My rising soul surveys, Transported with the view I'm…

FIVE REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN

FIVE REASONS TO GO VEGETARIAN

In the past fifty years millions of meat-eaters have made the personal decision to stop eating the flesh of other creatures. There are five major motivations for such a decision.

1) The DHARMIC reason Ahimsa, the law of non injury, is the Hindu's first duty in fulfillment of his religious obligations to God and God's…

Do you have the "NEED" to "BE RIGHT"?

I always  notice a great deal of tension between other wise loving individuals, until they get into a discussion with someone, that they don't see EYE to EYE with. It seems everyone has the need to be right. We LOVE to be right. We’ll argue to the death to prove we’re right. And when we suddenly realize we’re wrong, we still argue as if we’re right. What…

Vegetarians Reincarnate Better

"Non-violence and kindness to living beings is kindness to oneself. For thereby one's own self is saved from various kinds of sins and resultant sufferings and is able to secure his own welfare."

Omnivores who say, "Respect my Choice."

I read this today and I just thought, "Perfect". I'm not typically very extreme when it comes to discussing my beliefs with others, but this particular argument always infuriates me. It's on par with, "That's just my opinion."

“Asking vegans to respect your decision to eat meat is on par with asking feminists to respect sexists, asking Poc to respect racists and asking homosexuals to respect homophobes. It is ludicrous to think that difference in opinion warrants mutual respect,…

Restaurant Week in Ja!

Restaurant week just ended in Jamaica and I'm happy to say that it was good. Jamaica has always been a place for good vegetarian food but I've never seen where they did an entire page spread on places where we can go get it. It was great. Made us veggies feel special. Lol! :D

They had veggie wraps and creamy soups. There are even places where you can get live and ital food (uncooked and saltless food). Nutritious and healthy.

If anyone is thinking about a place to visit…
