Hello to all that are taking time to read this. :)

Names Nichole. Haven't put too much time on the site and have found myself getting frustrated when in the discussion threads. So...I decided to blog so that I can look back and read my journey, kind of using this as my journal.

My eating habits at the moment: include seafood and dairy, though limited… it's been this way for the past 2.5 years. I have made a decision to stop eating seafood, or significantly reduce it from my diet alone with dairy.

I went food shopping the other day and I think I did a pretty good job at buying vegan. I even bought veggie cheese (yuck!) to ween off of the real cheese, which yes, I bought that too. I have not bought goat milk in sometime and am just using almond and soy milk.

Overall, I am feeling good about this… except, I am eating so much of the same things! I need to venture with my taste buds and take time to actually prepare my meals better.

This decision definitely has me thinking about my decisions in all aspects of my life. I am not one to push my views on others but find people do it toward me more often. Especially people I know… they always have a reason why we are supposed to be eating meat.

Nicole, Yeah for you!  I think it is harder giving up milk, cheese and other dairy products because they taste so good. I recently learned on this site that they use the lining of a cow called remnent (if I have the name correct) to make cheese for culturing or something like that...Its in there.  It is also important to understand if we all gave up dairy, then diabetes would end up the way of polio...we know about it but forgotten anyone who had it.  One day. 

There are tons of recipes out there for great dishes.  I make home made burritos with Ezekial wraps, and fantastic stir fries.  Lots to eat and enjoy.

Hey there :) Congrats on trying to go vegan! I myself started on this path as a pescie as you were, so we can relate a lot. I am also not fond of vegan cheeze, to be honest- though I had a vegan Mac-N-Cheeze that was to die for. I wish you lots of luck on your journey! I know how you also feel about eating the same things, every day. I still try and force myself to experiment, and realize all that veggies have to offer :3

Thanks guys!! Lee, is that for all cheese? My dairy intake is very limited right now… it's the cheese that is so difficult for me! I don't like the Veggie cheese…

Nichole, I hear you.  I am a huge cheese lover.  I admittedly allowed myself the luxury of cheese back into my diet and into the holidays...oy what a mistake.  I put on 16 lbs in the last few months, but am now off the cheese and the weight is coming off.  Just wasn't cheese, by the way, but deserts, etc.  Cheese comes from animals so it is animal protein.  Having a piece of cheese every now and then going to hurt you?  No, of course not, but in my case it the once in the whiles became oftener and oftener.  Better for me to do without and you'll find after awhile no big deal.  Of course this is a path of your choosing.  You don't have to give up cheese completely or at all.  I am primarily speaking from my experience.  I would just encourage you to limit it as much as you can.
