Hello and HAPPY FRIDAY!
I had a pretty awesome week! I went sailing on Monday and started my workout regime this week… back on it!
I have been doing a pretty good job at eating Vegan… I am not there yet, by no means, but I am more mindful.
I am nervous about something though…. I find myself obsessing with what is going in my body… to the point that I fear I will develop an eating disorder, I know that sounds extreme and maybe that way of thinking is… but geez, I just want to live a normal life and my eating habits are becoming…. well, I just want to get the proper nutrition. What supplements does everyone take? (Right now I take, coconut oil - don't know why because I use it on everything!, B-12, B complex, Vit D, Multi, Vit E)
So on another note, I kind of got in an argument with a meat eater while sailing this week. I was simply explaining my reasons for not eating meat and started discussing the methane gas that animals produce… he didn't want to hear it, as he ate his slim jim… It gets frustrating when everyone just calls me a hippy tree hugger because of what I eat… haha…
That's all for now. :)
Comment by Yanelis Lara on January 12, 2013 at 10:11am You don't have to worry about developing an eating disorder as long as you get enough protein and nutrition. I tend to worry about what goes into my body sometimes too,but you'll still be healthy with the right foods. :)
Comment by Jerome Bulatao on January 12, 2013 at 11:45am have a blood test on vit D3 and B12 to check if your deficient in this nutrient. I take vit D3 for im deficient. I eat plenty of fruits(melon, berries, apple etc.), herbs and green veg. Eating good healthy food is not enough to have overall well being. Have good mind set and spirit be take into account. Exercise in Tai chi, Yoga, meditation etc...
Keep up the good work Nichole you are taking a healthy steps already. Have fun doing what you like to do.
Comment by Gerett Treas on January 13, 2013 at 6:42am I too have problems with thinking about what is going on inside my body. I would say I do have an eating and body image disorder. I worry about weight, that is my thing. I obsess over how many calories I burn and if I am sitting too much to burn enough calories to stay trim. I can't workout with heavy weights etc. right now, haven't for a while because I have a muscular disorder and my doctors have told me not to do strenuous activity. I just make sure I walk about 5 miles a day, and I'm good. Nothing ever seems like it's enough, I'm all or nothing! I think it is better to focus on what you can do, and make sure you are doing that :)
Comment by Lee Moss on January 13, 2013 at 7:45am I do consider what I am eating and what it is doing to my body. I would think that if I was taking anything that wasn't good for me. I also think it is a very healthy mind set. I don't worry too much about what others think or what they do. I am interested in my health and if someone else is not interested in what they put in their bodies then any criticism is only to justify the crap they put in theirs. I do not take vitamins but if I did, B12 and D3 would be the only ones I would consider as they are the only ones you can not get from food. We worry too much about what other people think. Any criticism as I said is only to justify their bad habits. I promise you once you are no longer in their presence they are only thinking of themselves as most of us are. Human nature.
Comment by Gerett Treas on January 13, 2013 at 8:16am Good points Lee! Health is important. In food, for me, as long as it does not cause harm, that is what is important. I do worry a bit about what others think for some reason. The mass voice of good looks gets to me a bit. I guess that's just all media crap, and that we should just do our best. I have trouble differentiating between media image and real life. Go figure.
Comment by Lee Moss on January 13, 2013 at 8:57am You know what Gerett. Continue to eat healthy and your bod will give you what is "real life". And that will be the healthiest and best looking you possible. All the celebrities are on one diet or another in the ongoing battle of the bulge. Silly isn't it?
