Immunity Health & Wellness, Avoiding the flu, coughs and colds is many times a matter of keeping your immune system boosted with the trifecta of life: Eat!(the right foods) Play! (get some exercise) and Sleep! (six to eight hours a day). Sound simple? It is!

Eat: Boost your immunity with plenty of antioxidants in the form of fruits, veggies and beans. Simple soups, stews and salads are the best way of getting these much needed nutrients into your system, and if you don't have time to cook, use that slow cooker gathering dust in the pantry. Smoothies are also a delicious way of quickly whipping up fruits and veggies everyone loves, even when your in a rush.

Play: Don't think of it as exercise. Choose something you love and do it! Take the dog on a walk after work, kick the ball around the yard with your kid, or hop on a treadmill or bike while you watch the evening news. Stress is a known inhibitor to your immune system, so de-stress yourself while building immunity!

Sleep: This is huge when it comes to your immunity because that is when your immune system repairs itself. Turn off the t.v., put on relaxing music, take a hot shower, use Valerian root preparations (unless you are on a blood thinner), relax with a cup of hot, herbal tea; whatever helps you drift off and get the rest your body needs

. Eat, play, sleep. Let this be your mantra during the cold and flu season!

This is a great post :) Eat, play, sleep! Reminds me of Eat, pray, love haha. Will definitely be chanting this mantra! Interesting enough, this is the first winter I have not gotten sick. I get strep throat like every year, no more as a vegan :3
