Hi all. I am new to this lifestyle. I recently was exposed to pictures of how animals are kept and then slaughtered for food. I was mortified to say the least. I never thought of the process of animal to plate so to speak. Growing up it was never a discussion. You ate meat, you ate what was put on your plate and that was that. Non issue. Well I looked at my pets after this incidence and thought, it would never even be a choice to eat them, so what gives me the right to think it ok to eat any other animal too? they are also someones sibling, mother, father etc...
I want to educate my children with this as I never had that choice. They are 14, 20 and 22. I think they are mature enough to handle what I endured seeing, but I do not want to come across as forceful , but I want to give them the facts and educate them so they can make a right choice for themselves, whatever that may be. Eating meat always made me feel weird, I wish I had that education on my choices so I want this for my children, even though they are all older, it's never too late to educate right? :o) any ideas on how to approach them with this from any of you who may have done so with your own children would be appreciated. Would love to know how you went with it? cheers :o)
