This is for my personal use just to write out my small juice fast.

I thought a loooot about cooked foods today lol guess my addiction goes deep... tofu, veggies, sauce. noodles, sauce. But I maintained my goals and didn't give in to temptation :) I didn't get to consume anything before school so I wasn't able to juice til my classes were over and by then I was so ready to have something! I did my first juice, did a salt soak, got ready, and then went to the grocery store. Bought some more oranges, another big bag of apples, 2 packs of strawberries, pineapple, 3 bunches of kale, 2 5lb bags of carrots, and some more celery. Just 20 bucks. My grocery bill has been much cheaper than usual by purely having fruits and veggies :) I was basically walking smiling and giggling to myself whenever I was at the Sprouts here so I guess that was nice, having fun all by myself lol.

I didn't feel bad at all today but I had an unending hunger it felt, I guess I was being a little whiny about it. I did a bunch of juices at a time each time I went to juice again mixing pure juices because I found it to be a little easier most times.
1st: I drank pure carrot juice, pure apple juice, then pure celery
2nd: carrots and apples mix together
3rd: celery and apples mixed together, pure carrot juice, then pure pineapple.

The pineapple was SOOOO good. Another thing I haven't had juiced freshly. It was sweet and tasted like loads of healthy ;) I can't wait to juice more pineapple tomorrow and some more oranges.

I'll have done three weeks of fasting this Monday. Like you, I'm trying to transition to a more raw based diet, and I figure it's easier to go from a juice fast to a raw diet, than it is to go from a normal cooked Vegan diet to a raw one.

I certainly found the first week the most difficult. The last two have been pretty much plain sailing, and I'm feeling great. :) My dilemma this evening is that one of my best friends and his wife and new baby (who I haven't seen in months)  said they'll be in town, and have asked if we can go for a bite to eat together. They're not veggie (although they've been supportive of my decisions) but I do really feel like having a 'night off' , and even if it's just having a uber light salad and a herbal tea, just going out to a restaurant with them.

Not sure what to do yet, but I'm loathed to cancel, even though I'm really feeling great on the juice. If I do have a light bite, I just hope I can get straight back into juicing tomorrow.

But anyway, best of luck with your own fasting. Pineapple is a brilliant addition to juicing. With the weather warming up, I've started to make pineapple and apple ice pops. They really help break the monotony of non-stop liquids, and brings some welcome texture to meal time.

As you say, food bills can be much lower when juicing. I'm off out this afternoon to treat myself to a Playstation Vita, as I've shaved about €150 off my food bill over the past three weeks, and Wipeout calls to me. :)

Anyway, look forward to following your progress, and if the hunger monster taps on your shoulder over the next few days, best advice I can give is to grab your mp3 player, crank up the volume and go for a walk. Makes me feel so alive, and reminds why I'm juicing in the first place. :)

Are there any other tips or suggestions you found helped you on your juice fast?? What I do is as soon as I get the cravings I juice as soon as I can to stuff my stomach! lol.
I also agree that juicing is a great and easier way to transition to eating raw food. As of today I have actually decided to extend my juice fast from the comments and support I have got :)

Yeah, it's kind of hard when people typically meet up and eat out together, but perhaps you could suggest doing something else, or bring your own juice? There might be some suggestions on because it's a raw site if you haven't check it out yet. Or, yeah, you can make a small exception. I plan on making small exceptions too, but only on occasion. The money saving definitely sounds awesome! If I could stick with it and save as much money as you have, I would be soooo happy haha!

I'm an example of a raw vegetarian! It can be done!

Yes, I looove it!! :D haha more money in my pocket, and better health to all! ^-^ I'm going raw vegan for 2 weeks after I decide when to stop my juice fast and then I decided I'm going to be of the majority raw after all that now :)

Wooohoo, Vita get. :)

But anyway, had a lovely day. Made the decision that if I was going to have a light bite in the evening, I would forgo the bus, and walk into town (about 4km) and that proved to be a great idea. Felt really great. As soon as I got into town, I headed to the local juice bar, and ordered a Thirst Buster (apples, strawberries and mint) and then met up with everyone.

The place we went to eat had a decent veggie offering, so I ordered a (kids portion) of baked rice with nuts and mushrooms on a bed of raw spinach leaves. It was really nice, but yeah, the food did feel as though it was dropping into an empty pit as it went down. I didn't finish it, but it was really nice. Just had a mint tea to go with it, no sweeteners.

Fired up to get back on it today though, and I've had no stomach pains or anything like that, so it looks like I chose somewhat wisely, lol

Anyhoo, another fun tip for juicing is to brush your teeth! Sounds daft, but if you're feeling hungry, go and brush your teeth. I have no idea how this works, but a friend recommended it to me, and after I've had a good brush, I don't feel as anxious about eating.

I drink a lot of herbal tea too. I don't know how that even fits into the whole juicing thing, but I figure a bit of mint tea isn't going to do any harm to anything, so I usually have a cup in the morning and afternoon.

Keep it up anyway.

For the cravings I use Bragg's Organic Apple Vinegar, and do 1oz shots :) People call me crazy, but it works. Also this helps balancing the stomach acid, and few other things.

I am on day 87, today's menu:

Left - Orange+Apple+Grapefruit (gone)

Right - Orange+Celery+Grapefruit

and more when I get home...

Good Luck

Awesome! :) Yeah, my bf actually mixes our juice with his apple cider vinegar sometimes lol I've never tried a shot of it, sounds intense!!

Good juicing!
