Hi everybody,

First of all, I'm French, so if I make some English grammar mistakes, please dont yell at me ...

I'm 20, I'm studying English in University and I decided to be new, to be healthy, to be new !

The problem is that I live with my boyfriend (well it's not a big problem since I love him more than all) and he is a massive meat-eater. I've always been one aswell, but I decided to change ever since I saw an awful video a vegan cousin of mine posted on her facebook wall, and after that, I knew that it was the right thing to do.

So i'm living with him and he REALLY doesnt know how to cook, even pasta or meat-steak..Nothing! So i have to cook for him while i'm trying to get rid of meat because i was really fond of it before i see the video i talked you about. I don't want to eat it again, I really dont want, and my boyfriend isn't helping me.

Are there any women here who share or had shared this problem and know how to face it?

Thanks a lot :) <3

Hello Manuela ,

Although i have never faced a problem like your problem ,  i think that if i were you i would cook vegetarian food at home and if my boyfriend wants to eat meat he must learn how to cook it ....He must respect your choice :)

I'd echo Ioanna's thoughts on the matter! Perhaps provide an ultimatum about you cooking meat for him but perhaps agree to give him some basic cookery lessons so that he feels supported and isn't left in the lurch.

Alternatively, continue to cook for him but refuse to cook meat based meals. Just provide him with veg*n ones.

I agree with the two others as well. I am also dating a meat eater. If I am cooking he will eat what I make, and if he cooks he will make his own meal and make something for me too. He knows I will not ever cook meat. It would completely gross me out. If you are not wanting to cook meat, let him know, he should be understanding of that. You will cook what you want, and if he wants some then he has that choice. Everyone needs to learn how to cook somehow.

I've lived with meat eaters, and they ate the vegetarian meals I cooked. They had no complaints either. I DO cook meat but only for my dogs. I just didn't cook it for the humans because there was no point in having to cook 2 meals when they could eat the vegetarian meals
