While I was in the hospital this past week (acute appendicitis- had to get the lil bugger removed!) I was watching the Animal Planet Channel and during the commercial break there was a heart wrenching ad about animal abuse and how you can help stop it. It was a very emotion ad and I began to cry while the nurse was checking my IV.

She asked me what was wrong and I told her how much I care for animals and what they mean to me and it started a whole conversation about animal rights and veganism! She seemed so touched and said she was very surprised to hear some of the things I told her about factory farms and the dairy industry. It was a whole 30 minutes as she sat on my hospital bed and discussed animals- it was so wonderful. It's amazing the opportunities that arise and how easy it is to share your message and speak for the animals- even after you've had your belly cut open and are loaded with pain medication! haha
