Spiritual Paths Adopting the Vegan Diet

Spiritual paths that have officially gone vegan are still quite rare. Many following paths or traditional schools of yoga based in India remain lacto-vegetarian. But things are slowly improving with a few vegan Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs, and Jains getting organized these days. I follow a Bhakti path of Inner Light and Sound Meditation founded by Sant Kabir. One branch of this has now gone vegan, so there is hope for positive change. Also, it should be said that many individuals within all branches of the Sant tradition have gone vegan, as have many in other paths and world religions, even including Islam and Christianity. Many vegetarians have been making a transition to the vegan diet based on the overwhelming evidence that this is a healthier choice. Clearly, great souls such as Kabir, Guru Nanak, Ravidas, Namdev, Tulsi Das, etc..., given the abuse that now dominates the dairy industry -- the cruel world of factory farming -- if they were with us today these advanced spiritual masters and founders of spiritual movements would not only be vegetarian but would be advocating a purely vegan diet.

See the following collection of links for more information on the path of non-violence (ahimsa), peace and well-being, including in the area of diet: https://Medium.com/sant-mat-radhasoami-books/7cc995e8eac9

Agree!  Very truly the violent and grievous energy emanated from animal-farm products hinder further progress in spiritual practices.

They accepted diaries in India those days because cows were treated as holy creatures and were protected from being abused. But nowadays does India import any diaries produced by factory-farms from overseas?

There would be no excuses for those who embrace the genuine paths putting aside the blind cultural inheritances.

That's true. Many Sikhs eat meat, but those who are vegetarian follow the lacto-vegetarian diet, which permits dairy but not eggs.

I believe there are a few vegan Sikhs. Will check to see if there is any vegan Sikh websites. There are many vegan Hindus and Jains these days. Hopefully the vegan Sikh population is growing also.
