Do you think it's weird to eat Tofu straight from the fridge? I love to get a big brick and bite into it like an apple :D ROFL!
Hey, I love tofu straight from the fridge too! Be sure to use FIRM TOFU though. Try dress the tofu with some sesame sauce, sprinkle some sesame seeds and top off with nori and shredded cucumber and carrots. There you have, a refreshing tofu dish! Another variation: Top the tofu with soy sauce/tamari and add some scallions, fried shallots... whatever you fancy for an Asian flavour.
You can also turn your cold tofu into dessert. This however requires softer tofu, not the firm one. Scoop out some tofu and drizzle syrup over it. (Plain syrup made with palm sugar and water or palm sugar+ginger+water) There you have a hassle-free bean curd dessert, known as Dou Fu Hua in Chinese! :D
For me, I love my tofu chilled. They are just simply delicious and refreshing, not to mention the texture is like cheesecake (in my opinion).
Who cares if it's weird? I doubt you'll like it without sazoning tough, it tastes like nothing. I like to cut triangles out of it and stew with leek and shrooms :)
hahaha but i do like it without seasoning though, its one of my favourite things is to eat straight, i like to go to my local Asian grocer buy myself a brick and eat it on the spot :D
