I became a vegan almost a year ago.  While I have lightly been working out for several years I now work out harder than I ever have.  I am having some muscle cramping issues, and hip pain and someone told me to take magnesium.  When I do it gives me a romping headache and makes me a little dizzy the next day.  I have tried several multi vitamins and they make me sick to my stomach.

As fellow vegans who work out hard what vitamins do you suggest?  I eat healthy.  I drink a green juice everyday for breakfast (spinach, carrots, celery, cilantro, green apples, habaneros, and a lime) and I make my own beans and rice, for my daily protein then I eat a variety of vegetables in a little coconut oil and as a snack a frozen treat (coconut milk, and frozen fruit).  So I make all of my own food and I don't eat packaged or processed food and all of the sudden I am having severe hip pain with cramping down the side of my leg.

I don't want to go the doctor (though I may have to) because I live in a small cattle town with no vegan doctors close by so I thought I would put it out there and see what you all thought.

Thanks!

I would suggest a blood test, just in case there is something else going on i.e. thyroid

Do you have a juicer ? for pain a ginger shot is great  .. root ginger 1-2- inches half an apple take this as a shot. Another good thing for pain is turmeric root  juiced or capsules. I like pukka herbs turmeric and boswellia Vegan capsules. Also try taking superfoods i,e good quality Chlorella and spirulina. as a shot in the morning on a empty stomach. high in protein, vitamin b some say also b12! (not wikipedia) and iron magnesium...

Check out the nutritional content in full..

My diet was nutritionally abundant with more nutrients than i needed using an all plant/veggie diet.  It will vary greatly depending on the degree of naturality your food is in.  IF you are using non refined exclusively as I did u are highly unlikely 2 require supplementation..   IF you eat more refined foods. then u are more likely...

YOur key food is the potato.. still.. never neglect this food =)).  no frying crap.. only baked/boiled/steamed/microwaved.   The potassium viramin c and a ton of other minerals will give u a massive boost.   Not 2 mention thier rich in fast digesting carbs!!!
