I try very hard on a daily basis to not ridicule others about their choice to eat meat. However- it is when I am confronted with statements like the following that I cannot tolerate the ignorance, disconnect, and lack of empathy of my fellow humans:

"They(animals) don't feel pain. Their brains are too small to process the feeling. Also, since pain is a key component of suffering, it follows that they are not suffering if they do not feel pain."-

"Me personally, I will stop eating meat and go vegan when meat stops tasting so damn good and veggies stop tasting like dirt. I don't care what conditions it takes to put a steak and eggs breakfast in front of me; I have more important things on my mind during the day than to consider the conditions the cow was subjected to before it was slaughtered to feed me and my family."

"I have morals like no man should ever hit a lady, no human should kill another human or steal from them, but a moral saying i shouldn't eat meat is just dumb a cow is just a cow I'm going to kill it butcher it cook it and eat it and love it."

" Sorry, I'd rather be an oppressor(of animals), I like being on the winning side."

-Such statements are not only an insult to me- but an insult to the animals and a complete disregard of their life. If you ever find yourself wondering why vegans seem so angry, frustrated, or 'extreme' -it's because we deal with such apathetic, ignorant remarks on a daily basis. Everyone has a tolerance level- and people like this exceed mine by far.

S1) Hmm, obviously, he/she never heard an animal cry out in pain before. Also, human babies have brains that are pretty dang small, but if you smack one they will holler in distress.

S2) Needs to be introduced to vegetarian/vegan foods pronto! They only taste like dirt if you're eating dirt with it. Here, vegan eggs and vegan steak.

S3) No man should ever hit a lady? So killing them (dairy cows) is ok?

S4) smh...

I know- I get so angry at people with this mindset- and they are literally everywhere! *sigh* I agree with you on all counts Mugan!

this... i literally dont even know what to say. honestly... i'd freaking blow up in this guy's face (depending on how well i know him) and say things about how he'll die from terrible health issues and to just wait to feel REAL pain. and then once he died a terrible young death, i'll say how humans crave your body to stuff it in between a burger, eat you, shit you out, and forget about you FOREVER.

WHO THE HELL SAID THAT? that is just... I DONT EVEN KNOW.

These are obviously butt hurt individuals, who instead of making an intellectual case, are sticking out their tongues like a two-year-old and saying "Nuh uh! I am going to be loud and obnoxious and knock your lifestyle until you shut up about how I'm murdering animals." Meh, toss 'em, they aren't worth the mental effort.

You're right! I feel bad at times but I literally can't stand to have people like this in my life- I can't do it!

I know exactly how you feel. Thing to keep in mind is, they are doing this to get a rise out of you, not to further the debate. There are ways to push their buttons right back, while maintaining your cool. You are sooo sooo smart and clever and well spoken, your energy is far too precious to waste on those jerks.

I will remember that-Once in a while I go full on rage monster- and I hate it because I know that's what they want- sick nasty cruel idiots >.< I must keep in mind that they are not worth my time-  just what I needed to hear! Thanks so much Lauren :)

Haha! Yeah me too, guilty for sure. Hard not to get angry, when you care so much about the lives of the animals, and you are confronted by individuals who mock that compassion. Trolls will be trolls, I suppose. Hard also to fathom there are people out there who are so heartless- like you said, sick and nasty and cruel. No problem :)! I had to learn this the hard way, stupid people will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

I loathe and despise trolls, I really do. Anyone who finds pleasure in upsetting people is a rotten turd if you ask me. That and those smart ass meat eaters who use their new found ' word of the day calender' to spew off ridiculous arguments in an attempt to sound intelligent and defend their cruel lifestyle. These people are just oozing out of the wood work lately and they are making me crazy!

I agree, scum of the earth, they are. They thrive on negative attention, because they don't have the capacity to garner (and more importantly sustain) positive attention- so they figure some is better than none. They are oozing out, because they are threatened. Vegans are really changing things, our numbers are growing, buahahaha! Which is strange to me, because even if I wasn't a vegan, I couldn't imagine hating them (except if I was insecure and hated how they made me feel about myself). "Oh no, you stand for peace and compassion, how dare you not want me to kill things, you are soooo going down!!!" LOL
