Hi Deb, I am new to this site and am interested in connecting with others on their life style journey to better health. I started my vegetarian journey 7 years ago when my oldest daughter came home and told me she was no longer going to eat meat or chicken. She never ate seafood . I started making her food for her and continued meat for the rest of us. Slowly as we started to eat more of the foods I prepared for her we really liked it. My husband ultimately benefited the most. He lost weight, went off blood pressure med and lowered his cholesterol! We have since become vegan( 5yrs.) We continue to take foods with us to family outings and bring enough to share. We have found many ways to eat out, we look at menus ahead of time and most restaurants accommodate us. Good luck on your journey. Take one day at a time. When you get the chance read the China Study. It is a 20 year ,controlled nutritional study.
