It's A Dog's Life - Undercover footage at Huntington Life Sciences

This is the original (1997) Countryside Undercover investigation which sparked the Close HLS campaign, a campaign which nearly brought HLS to financial insolvency. As reported by The Guardian newspaper;

The company's financial woes began in 1997 when a Channel 4 documentary, It's a Dog's Life , showed workers at Huntingdon shaking and punching beagles as they struggled to avoid having blood-samples taken. Undercover TV reporter Zoe Broughton worked at the laboratory for six months and filmed workers punching beagles while taking blood samples. This led to an investigation of the company and the prosecution of two workers. The subsequent four-year campaign by Stop Huntingdon Animal Cruelty brought the company to the brink of financial ruin.
